🌿☀️ Sunshine Wattle Playdough ☀️🌿

When I asked Lily the other day what color playdough she wanted to make she said she said sunshine colour ☀️

Usually we would reach for the tumeric which makes a great natural dye but I wanted to try something different and use our beautiful wattle that's blooming at the moment ☀️

What we used

☀️ Bunch of fresh wattle
☀️ Large bowl (use a old bowl as the color can stain)
☀️ Flour, Salt, Coconut oil

For the dye we simply crushed wattled flowers with our mortar and pestle until we were left with a beautiful yellow dust of wattle and added it to our dry playdough mix

☀️ 2 cups of flour
☀️ 1 cup of Salt
☀️ 2 cups of boiling water
☀️ 1 teaspoon of coconut oil

Mix through with your hands until it becomes playdoughy and if you find your playdough is too sticky add more flour as needed or if it's too dry you can add more coconut oil until you get that beautiful smooth playdough! ☀️

Also to keep your playdough longer if your like me and you forget to pop it into a container or wrap it (usually we do playdough just before bed for a bit of calm down play then the bed rush comes and I completely forget to pop it away until the morning and we wake up and it's all dry 😬 we just add more coconut oil or any oil to get it nice again! 😉☀️💕

And there you have it some Sunshiney playdough! ☀️
