🌼 Botanical Dying 🌼

We picked up this little apron from our local op shop awhile ago for Lily for about $2 it was still in a packet and brand new! 😍

We decided to dye it yesterday whilst the sun was out using flowers from the garden, Lily wanted to make it yellow and the only yellow flowers we could find were the good old dandelion! 🌼

I was hoping she might choose a brighter color like pink because they come out really nice but a girl wants what a girl wants and this little girlie wants yellow haha 💁💛

What we used:

🌼 Dandelions
🌼 A old pot (some flowers stain)
🌼 String
🌼 Vinegar

What we did:

🌼 Boil a pot of hot water and add your flowers
🌼 Bring to boil and let sit until the water has obsorbed all the color in your flowers
🌼 Soak your material in water with two cups of vinegar and rinse
🌼 Use your string to make patterns we were going for the tye dye look
🌼 Once the water has obsorbed all the color in the flowers strain the water into a bowl to remove the left over flowers
🌼 Add your material into the bowl and let it soak (the longer you let it soak the more color your material will obsorbe)

We let ours soak for two hours and that was enough to achieve the color we wanted! 😍

And lay out in the sunshine to dry ☀️

Lily's favourite part was watching the flowers "dance" in the pot as it boiled, she found it very memorizing - 😅✨
